Great to hear that the current alpha fixed the problem!
I think what's making it work is that I'm taking more advantage of existing JavaScript variables in this release. In SharePoint 2010 and above, we have a variable called _spPageContextInfo.webServerRelativeUrl that I can use the value of rather than trying to parse out the URL. This makes things work much better in 2013 because the URLs no longer follow the same predictable structure.
