I have a two lists that have similar fields, both with about 3500 items. One of the lists (list 1) existing prior to an upgrade to SharePoint 2010, the other (list 2) was created after the 2010 migration. I don't know if that matters, but I have been having lots of problems with list 1 after the migration. They both have 'team' name fields. I recently updated both lists to new team names. Changing names from 'abc team' to 'def team' etc.
I'm using SPServices GetListItems and when I return the team name for the list 1 I get the team names that existed before I updated them. List 2 returns the correct team names. If I view List 1 in the browser with any view, the team names are correct. I only have the problem retrieving with SP Services.
Do you know what the problem could be with returning old data for list 1? My guess is there is nothing wrong with SPServices and its something on the server that is retaining the old data.
I am only a site collection administration on the site, the server farm is controlled by our enterprise group in a different area.
