I'm a little confused about the relationship between the "Method_Assets" list, and its child list in which you are trying to invoke two cascading dropdowns. Is the "Method" column in the "Method_Assets" list required to have unique values. Otherwise, it would seem that the "Method" column in the child list would have the potential for duplicate lookup values. I partially mimicked the child list, as shown below, to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.
