New Post: .wsp?

I was wondering if anyone has incorporated this into a solution in order to deploy globally without having to alter the master page. I've searched for quite a while, but have not been able to find anything, and I do not have the skills or access to Visual Studio to try it myself. Please let me know if you know of anyone that has created this.
